Week 1 - 16th January 10am - 11.30am
The first class of the term will take place at Leith School of Art with an introductory lecture giving an overview of the main questions to be addressed in the course. Looking particularly at work by Monet, Cezanne, van Gogh, Picasso and Matisse today's class will ask what factors distinguished modern painting from what preceded it.
