The latest solo show by well-known Edinburgh artist Damian Callan will be displayed in the sculpture court and foyer of the School during our six-week summer school.
The exhibition sees Callan focussing on the theme of journeying. Using the poetic potential of this subject matter, he has produced paintings based on trips to the West Coast of Scotland and Paris, capturing his children as they holiday together; reading maps, crossing streets and planning adventures. Consisting of both large and small scale drawings and paintings, his work captures the sheer joy and light of childhood experience. Callan’s interest and aim is to capture a fleeting moment in time and his ability to achieve this through lively charcoal drawings and expressive paintings is not to be missed!
