Paper Pulp Painting

Pulp painting is a papermaking technique which involves manipulating coloured paper pulp on top of a base sheet of newly-formed wet paper to create marks and textures reminiscent of expressive paintings. This workshop will consider the work of Edvard Munch whose paintings and graphic works address human emotions such as love, anxiety and melancholia. Looking to Munch for inspiration, students on this course will sketch out compositions featuring figures in the landscape and interior settings which will subsequently be translated into pulp paintings.
