Many students use the courses offered at Leith School of Art to build up a programme of study. For example, the Painting Course can be taken in conjunction with the Figure Painting Course, to form a four-day a week course.
 
In addition, many students use the Foundation Course as a stepping stone into the Painting Course, just as others use the part-time courses and workshops to build up a portfolio for full-time courses, either here at the School or elsewhere.
