Eleanor Cunningham studied Textiles and Fashion Design Management at Heriot Watt University, graduating in 1999. She went on to work in the London fashion industry and then moved back to Edinburgh to work in finance for 7 years in various roles including project management, business planning and communications. Eleanor set up the Edinburgh Larder in 2009 to showcase the best seasonal Scottish ingredients, working with local suppliers to raise awareness of Scottish produce and the importance of Scotland's food history. The Edinburgh Larder has won numerous awards and has been instrumental in changing the food culture in Edinburgh. Eleanor set up a social enterprise called Edinburgh Food Social in 2016 to widen the remit of food education in schools and communities, making good food more accessible in areas of Edinburgh which needed it most.
