Together with other education providers, and in line with Government guidance, we will cease face to face teaching from Friday 20th March at 5pm.
I would like to assure you that the whole team is working very hard to plan with enthusiasm for when we are able to re-open. Leith School of Art is a very special place and I would like to thank you for your continuing friendship and support.
A lot of people are not aware that Leith School of Art is a charity. We receive no public subsidy, which means that we don’t get regular financial help from the local authority or Government. Every penny we need to support our projects with young people and the community, and to pay the salaries of our wonderful and dedicated staff team, we have to raise ourselves. We do this largely through course fees, but on top of that we still need to raise large sums of money to ensure that our beautiful campus remains one of the most vibrant and vital independent art schools in the UK.
If you would like to make a general donation to help Leith School of Art through this period of deep uncertainty, we would be extraordinarily grateful.
Your support means everything to us, and we ask that everyone in our community help one another at this challenging time. Now more than ever arts and culture can lift our spirits, brighten our days and support our mental health. Your direct financial contribution will ensure that we continue to make Leith and the City of Edinburgh a better place to live.
The School will continue to operate and staff will still be working as a team to update you of developments and to answer any queries you may have.
Please take very good care over the next few weeks and I look forward to communicating with you again in the near future.
Very best wishes
Nick Devison, Principal
