A week exploring the painted landscape, working in the studio from students’ own subject matter. Using painting, drawing, photographs, sketches and the written word as source material, students will expand and refine their work through creative play and an exploration of material processes.
Initially, students will freely explore their ideas through drawing, painting and monoprinting, taking pleasure in materiality and colour. As a personal, visual language is developed, students will start to distil their work to make a resolved piece that expresses the student’s relationship with their chosen landscape.
