A series of workshops inviting young artists to explore their creativity and learn new skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media. Each session will focus on a new theme, with students learning about different art forms, artists and cultures from around the world, including Asia, Africa and South America. Workshops can be taken individually, or booked together to build on the young artists learning throughout the year.
In the Spring Workshop, young artists will take inspiration from Africa - the patterns and colours of Ndebele house painting and mud cloth, and the drawings and paintings of Arthur Edward Cantrell and Irma Stern. The day will focus on teaching students about observational line drawing, exploring shape and pattern, before moving on more sustained studies in colour. Students will work with a range of materials including pencils, charcoal, pastels, collage papers, printing inks and acrylic paint, completing the workshop with a diverse range of mixed media work.
We are pleased to offer a 15% discount to school pupils on all of these workshops. Workshops fees are £72.25 each (with school pupil discount) or a reduced block-booking price of £210 for all three workshops when booked together. Phone the School if you would like to find out more about this offer.
