Discover the creative potential of egg tempera and take inspiration from the principles of composition and colour harmony found in the work of Giorgio Morandi.
Students will learn how to make and use egg tempera paint, a versatile water-based medium. Both translucent and opaque colours can be rapidly layered and students will explore how to create a harmony of colours using a limited palette.
In the morning students will make compositional studies from small individual still-life set-ups, as well as making their own tempera paint, and in the afternoon they will make a one-session painting based on the morning’s studies.
