A comprehensive exploration of monotype and drypoint printmaking, two classic print mediums that offer the opportunity to create visually exciting images.
With two full-days devoted to each technique, the basics will be demonstrated in depth before developing and expanding our knowledge through practical experience. Students will be introduced to a variety of techniques including:
-direct monotype
-trace monotype
-offset printing
-drypoint intaglio printmaking
-a la Poupée

The final day of the course will be spent exploring ideas further while sharing our work and discussing with fellow students. An interdisciplinary way of working will be encouraged, combining what we have learnt about each technique to produce original artworks. This Summer School is suitable for those new to printmaking and anyone wishing to expand their knowledge and skills.
