Students on this course will observe the colourfully clothed figure in same studio set-up over five days.
Drawing the clothed figure in a colourful set-up, students will explore composition, line and tone and how these three elements relate to each other. Following this, students will work on a number of quick oil sketches working on composition of colour while continuing to observe the figure in the studio arrangement. Embarking on their main piece, students will first explore underpainting using acrylics for the ground and imprimatura before refining the piece further, working with oils over the acrylic underpainting. As the work progresses, a more passionate and individually expressive approach to painting will be developed.
