This two-day workshop will look at deconstructing the book form. In the spirit of Fluxus and Dada, we will use elements of the book as material to create new structures and ideas.

Over the course of the weekend, students will make several book structures / objects and a box to contain them.  Print, text, collage, sewing and book-making will be introduced and used to create unique book structures. The diverse discipline of the Artist Book will be explored while considering the work of: Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, Andre Breton, John Cage, Joseph Beuys and Red Fox Press.
