Artist’s Statement

When I create art, my aim is to produce something structured and carefully planned to connect with the audience. To promote discussion and provoke reaction, whether positive or negative.
The purpose of my art is to tell a story, to capture emotions, defined by marks, shapes and colours. With focus on mediums such as acrylics and chalks I have developed my own distinctive style.
My hope is to encourage the audience to take a few minutes to reflect, capture a lasting memory and to take a little bit of me away with them.

Biography

I am based in Fife with my family. I recently retired as a project manager based in a variety of locations across the globe.
On retirement I decided to reconnect with my love of art and set myself a target of completing 200 pieces of art by my 64th birthday. I am looking forward to returning to Leith Art School next year to continue my journey and beat my target.
