Gillian came to Edinburgh to study History of Art at university in 1997. Her subsequent career in the museums and galleries sector has frequently brought her into contact with artists through which she has gained insight into the processes and the challenges of developing a career as an artist and the importance of nurturing artistic ability.
She has long admired the School’s inclusive approach and its commitment to supporting the individual to develop to their full potential.
Gillian currently works for Museums Galleries Scotland, the national development body for Scottish museums, managing their grants programme. She joined the board in 2018.
