Leesa leads the Contemporary Art Practice Course and is a tutor on the Foundation Course. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art having previously studied at the University of Adelaide. After completing her BA in Tapestry at Edinburgh College of Art, Leesa went on to complete an MFA there in Painting.
Leesa joined the School in 2005 to teach on the Foundation Course and initiated the Contemporary Art Practice Course in 2013. Leesa’s art draws on the nature of material, discarded objects and the natural materials of landscape and human occupation that carry memories of use, often marked by repetition. Her work is inspired by locations in rural Australia, the Southern Peloponnese of Greece, and the city of Edinburgh.
