Build confidence in the effective use of colour using acrylic paint.
The ways in which colours interact within a painting can greatly impact its success. Using structured and playful colour exercises, we will experiment with placing colours together in different combinations to maximise their effect within your own paintings.
We’ll start the day with a tutor demonstration, and take inspiration from paintings made throughout history to illustrate the basics of colour theory. Putting this theory into practice, you’ll build your own interactive colour wheel, helping you to build on your confidence in selecting and mixing a palette.
Using the knowledge gathered throughout the day, you’ll then create a sustained still life painting in acrylics.
