An introduction to basic silversmithing techniques, students will be guided through the process of designing and making a set of stacking rings.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to silver, tools, design planning, measuring, cutting, and shaping the rings, before moving on to soldering, refining, texturing, polishing, and final adjustments. Different textures and finishes can be applied to allow each student to create a unique, individually designed set of rings.
Throughout the day, we’ll draw inspiration from renowned jewellery designers such as Wendy Ramshaw (innovative ring stacks), Lisa Eldridge (delicate stacking rings), and Georg Jensen (organic, sculptural designs).
This ever-popular workshop is a great way for beginners to learn the basic techniques of jewellery-making.
