Monotype printmaking is a rich and complex discipline, allowing for the creation of spontaneous and painterly one-off images.

Inspired by the work of Chloe Cheese and Kittie Jones, there will be a focus on the beauty of everyday objects as students learn the technique of multiplate, multicolour monoprinting.

With an introduction to the process and tutor demonstrations throughout, students will be guided through this expressive printmaking technique in easy-to-manage steps. We will learn inking up & rolling techniques, preparing and registering coloured layers, and simple plate registration on the press.

You’ll then have the opportunity to work independently, giving you time to understand the layering process in earnest and create your own suite of prints.

All core materials provided. Concession rates are available.
