Application Process

There are no formal entry requirements for admission to the Foundation Course. This can benefit some students with lower exam grades, as some art colleges will accept a Merit Pass on the Foundation Course as entry into Second Year. We advise students as far as possible to check in advance what the entry requirements are for the degree of their choice.

Applicants will be invited to interview with their portfolios from the end of February onwards. We accept late applications, providing there is still availability on the course. Please get in touch with the School to enquire about availability.  For full details on the application process and portfolio requirements please click here.

The School's Assisted Places Scheme offers financial assistance for students who would find the fees difficult to pay. The application is based on personal and financial circumstances. For further details visit our Fees & Funding page.

As the U.K. has left the European Union, EU students will need to apply for a visa if studying on a course for 6 months or more, if they arrive in the U.K after 1st January 2021 and the course commences after 1st August 2021. At present Leith School of Art is unable to issue visas for overseas students who wish to study for 6 months or more.

Leith School of Art is not registered through UCAS. Please apply online through our website.

All applicants must be 17 or over at the time of the course commencing. We will not be able to consider applications that do not meet this criteria.
