Learn a variety of approaches to combining the fluidity of ink and watercolour to create dynamic and expressive works.
The workshop will begin with an emphasis on material experimentation, embracing the surprising effects that can be achieved through wet-on-wet, wax resist, blotting, layering and other contemporary application techniques.
Students will then be shown how to use these effects to capture the colours, tones, forms and textures of a vibrant botanical still life. A loose yet considered approach to final outcomes will be encouraged, with the option of progressing towards a gradual abstraction.
