At the end of the Autumn Term, just before Christmas, the School presents the work of our current students on Year-long and Short courses. The exhibition marks a stage in the students’ progress through the year and gives an exciting glimpse of the work being done throughout the School.
The Christmas Exhibition is accompanied by our annual Postcard Sale, which offers a small piece of artwork created by the tutors and students, as well as some well-known artists. The postcards are sold anonymously at an affordable price and profits from the sale raise money for the School’s Assisted Places Scheme.
Marking the end of the academic year in June, a second show of student work is held transforming the School into a huge art gallery across our two campuses. The vibrancy and unique creative atmosphere of the School comes across at the Summer Exhibition. An inspiring mix of work including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and print can be seen.
Our intimate Corridor Gallery exhibits work by staff, invited artists and former students. If you would like to see which exhibitions are coming up, please visit the What’s On sections of the website.
In 2014, we celebrated our 25th anniversary with a major Alumni Exhibition at Dovecot Studios. The exhibition showcased the achievements of Leith School of Art Alumni, who have gone on to achieve remarkable things in the world of Contemporary Art.
